It's a heartfelt series that pays tribute to the educators who have profoundly impacted my life, be it in classroom or outside. Each letter reflects on the memories, lessons, and wisdom imparted by these mentors.
I was in the last semester of my engineering career, when I had chosen to write a series of letters to my teachers. In that context, the following letter is dedicated to Shri Akshaya Kumar Sahu, a school teacher of mine teaching multiple subjects lik...

I was enjoying my plate of papdi chaat with Vinod when a tall, young man—perhaps in his late twenties—approached us with a noticeably pale and uneasy expression. From the very first glance, something about his face struck me as unusual. With a nervou...

We had got a brief period with Ms. Sanju Parida at SUIIT, who was assigned to us as our mentor for final year Project submission. This letter was written in the first week of association with her.
We’re quite delighted to present this letter to you and express our extreme joy to have you as our guide for completing our final year project assignment over the next 7-8 months.
This letter stands as a transparent documentation of our thoughts and vision for our project, which we believe can be explained in a lucid manner through a proper writing only. We would appeal you to kindly go through this and please let us know, about the scope of growth in our future endeavours.

As you’re aware, the project team got published on Aug 10, 2019. So, as an immediate response to that, without any further delays, we had the privilege to have a discussion with you regarding the action plans ahead.
We were fortunate enough to receive the freedom from your end to team up for an application based project of our choice. We’d apologize for not being able to meet you after that although nearly one month has slipped away.
Well Ma’am! We’ve entitled our project as “MISSION SUIIT”. Basically, we’re striving to build a digital platform to address some of the problems inside our organization which can be dealt from a developer’s point of view.

Right now, our project is in the software requirements specifications phase, where we’re putting efforts to make a razor sharp observations of the needs of the project and jotting them down to the papers.
Although we’re not completely done with this phase, but one of our features involves digitalizing the existence of “paper applications” in SUIIT. Let’s simply put this. Like, this module lets the user to raise an issue. Let’s say, few girls want to get permission to organize the festival “Holi” in their hostel.
In the existing process, for this they need to write an application, get the signature of some of the girls and then seek approval of Hostel Superintendent and Director sir. We are suggesting to solve it in a simple way. On the web/app dashboard a girl will raise the issue (Let’ say “Holi Celebration” in this case).

She would invite her other batchmates/hostel mates for digitally approve her concern. After that, the system would forward the concern to the Hostel Superintendent and Director sir. After both of their approvals done digitally, the concerned girls will be notified for being permitted!
All this can be done within few minutes without involving any mindless & tireless repetitive human efforts and also would save loads of papers in a year for sure! Also these could be referred by the authority at any time as they’d be stored safely in the database. This is just a simple case. Just imagine how many things could get resolved if this model is taken as an inspiration!

Apart from this, the other modules we’re working on like making a standard tracking of a student from the day she takes admission till the day she graduates on the basis of her academic performances, exam results, attendances, internship details and many more other things. It’ll help her be aware of her current ongoing progress in the institute in her specific courses and where she needs to grow.
Also, at times we’ve some thoughts like addressing some interesting projects like building an alumni management system or building a campus site for SUIIT where students can upload their creative works and post campus updates. Things could go on and on like this as creativity has no end!
But, above all, we’ve kept our alma mater SUIIT as the core inspiration for our project, no matter what! It’s just that, under your guidance we want to leave behind the legacy of some remarkable works and bring an impact in the day to day operations of this institution.

Just to ensure these things don’t get over with our exit after the final year, we’d ensure to maintain a standard codebase on GitHub, project files in google drive and updates through blog posts to build a strong documentation for the following generations to pick the things from where we’d leave and scale them up in coming days.
To maintain a proper professional communication during this project building process, we would send you regular updates through mails with the links of GitHub, google drive and the blog to let you have a comfortable experience reviewing our progress and helping us with your special comments to grow through the works. Regular interactions along with you’d lead us on the path of righteousness.

Although we’re a bit new players with the backend development, but we’d ensure to let our learning curves be in our favour to meet absolutely every need of this project and to work upon the special instructions given by you.
We’re excited enough to have a new learning experience with you & hope, you’ll have a great time guiding us! The final words from our end are:
We won’t let you down ever, no matter what!
Thank You, Madam!
With Regards,
Team “MISSION SUIIT”
