Fabric to Fashion: A Factory Tour

Last week I had a chance to visit the apparel manufacturing setup of Fastech Fashions, the company owned by Abhijeet, a fellow founder colleague who has been specializing in T-shirt👕 designing and printing for over past 7 years, along with other line of businesses.

We had even used their services during the SUIIT college festivals in 2019. So choosing them now for our business needs felt like a natural progression.

The floor manager, responsible for operations, welcomed me to the workspace.

I was amazed by the array of machinery and the artisanship on display with hundreds of women diligently working at their stitching🧵 machines.

I paused to take it all in; the bright lights made the experience even better. I saw vibrant activity across the massive facility, with machines, cutting tables and quality check areas.

This govt-backed center enables the team to focus on creativity without the burden of seeking other external assistance. 💼

“A RISOGRAPH depiction of a collection of vibrant T-shirt displayed on a factory clothesline, showcasing various colors and patterns under bright lighting.”

They receive training for their workers, assistance with design development and opportunities to showcase their creations at various fashion exhibitions. 👗

I entered a room to select the material we needed. 🧶 They displayed sample materials of their past or current ongoing customers which offered me a proper look and feel.

I settled on a white cotton fabric and shared my design file with the manager for his feedback.

“A RISOGRAPH-style designer reviewing fabric swatches and design files, surrounded by a colorful array of materials and inspirations.”

After discussing for about 10-15 minutes, we agreed on the material, A3 printing, quantity and the DTG (Direct-to-Garment) printing 🖨️method.

This technique delivers high-resolution prints with vibrant colors and sharp details, making it ideal for intricate designs that require color grading or multiple hues.

These centers also have an impact on local communities, as each entrepreneur trains and employs workers from the nearby areas.

By creating jobs and sharing skills, these centers contribute to building stronger communities and laying the groundwork for the next generation of leaders in the textile industry.

After making the advance payment, I left the facility, taking some time to reflect on the experience.

✨ Visiting places like this is inspiring, so I made sure to capture📸 the moment with my phone.

“A reflective RISOGRAPH illustration of you taking pictures at the facility, capturing the experience and vibrant atmosphere.”

I shared them with some colleagues to discuss my observations.

It would have been a mistake to miss out on this experience, if I had simply placed an order online, even though the facility is at a nearby distance!

The world🌍 exists offline, through what we see with the eyes! The bigger, the better. 🌟

P.S

This is NOT a sponsored post—I just genuinely enjoyed the experience and wanted to share it .
